I had talked to several people with more experiences and more senior than me and the conclusion is that I am just being paranoid with those What IF questions and my dilemma.

20080308 marks itself as a very important day in our history. This however created a lot of "What IF" questions for me to answer on crafting my future career path... :-|

Last Day @ Camping

I started to camp at my boss' place since First Day @ Camping 3 weeks ago. Today is the last day I should camp here...

Following is 5 days of holidays + chess tournament.

Finally, I will be sitting "in open space" or "in the middle of the road" after my holidays. Pity me......

Demotivated

I got a letter from the HR. Excited, I read the content but yet again, they let me down. A series after the incident of a Bad Day.

Luckily I got my leave application for 30th August approved. A good news out of all bad news.

It seems like now I had to put all my attention at chess in order to squeeze some motivation out of it.

Well, I guess I need to go after the phrase "Happy Go Lucky"~~

First Day @ Camping

Well, cubicle demolished and today is my first day camping at my boss's place. It will be a few more weeks before my place is ready...

Happy camping...

Last Day

2 years! I had been sitting in this cubicle for 2 years! Today is my last day here. I will be "homeless" starting next week since the new place is not yet ready and I will need to move myself out. Why? What happened? Read "Bad Day" for details.

The department is expanding and is running out of space but since I am dispencable, I am forced to sacrify my cubicle so that people can build more cubicle out of it...

Incidently, my boss is on his long vacation starting next week, and the homeless me will hide in his place for now...

Pity...

How Lian

I got some feedback from the others today. Guess what, one of the feedbacks about me at my work place is that I am "how lian". Erm, for those who don't know, how lian means arrogant.

I also don't know why I got this comment but this is what the other sees, so I will try to sort this out and become not how lian.

Bad Day

Today, first of August is a bad day.

0945: Your are too young to get promoted even if your boss agrees...
WTF? Does age matters with efficiency and ability?

1230: Ok, we will demolish your cubicle and you will share a long table, ops, "small cubicle" with everyone starting next month.
Well, I cannot say too much on this since I am lucky not to get demoted.

1500: Your leave application for 30/8/07 is on hold for further consideration...
Ok, this is not acceptable and I will be off on this day at all costs.

What else? So many BAD NEWS in one short. A sign that I am no longer needed and should be looking for new challenge?

May be I should start to distribute some resume...

Counting Down

3 more working days before my 10 days holidays!!

Haven't been blogging over here for quite some times. I was and still is busy with various commitments on job and chess. I had to strive for a balance between these 2 as they both leads to different future...

For the moment, chess is more important but job is taking more of my time. National Championship is only 4 more days away but I am yet to do revision on things...

Anyway, just go to have fun and try not to lose too many games as possible.

Looking forward for the 10 days break too...

Manual Entry or Automation?

Lately, my boss had us involved in a project to produce a process where if successful will be able to replace a few human data entry clerks.

The project is now in the mids of its development life cycle were we are cracking our head to figure out all the possible and necessary scenario for exception handling. Exception handling does not just involve syntax or programming error, but they involved error message return from the destination system, for example, invalid entry or missing compulsory entry...

Besides all the difficulty in the coding, I see bright future for the project! Another part of the project where the engine login to destination system and request data/report was already done and implemented!

Hopefully the pending parts can be done before my approved holidays from 26 May to 4th June so that I can go on holidays without any worries...

I am the culprit

I was the culprit in my attempt to declaring my income tax successfully as I cannot login with my digital signature properly. And the reason is... the language of the OS was set to a native language instead of English (US). So for those having the same error "error 5, invalid procedure call or argument", please proceed to change your regional and language settings to English (US).

Last day to declare income tax

Just back from the income tax office (LHDN) where the area including the roads to there and the parking area was full of people. No camera around to take any photo though. I just parked my car 500M away, rush to the office, get my Pin and run home to finish the final step...

Threaten

Someone just walked over and asked me "Did you mess up with my friend?" during lunch hour, Date 20070403 and Hour 1310. Can we call this a threat? May be I should file a police report on this...
Someone just does not ask a friend to threaten me like this, this is not the way. If someone does not like me, just tell me and we can sort this out the other way but not by telling someone else and let the someone else threaten me...
I know I joke a lot but I always tell out my words with a smile and that means big jokes. May be some people does not like that. I remember joking around and a friend told me he did not like that so I sort of keep it serious with him after that...
But this time...

NEC Computers Community Open House 2007

The year 2007 edition of NEC Computeres Community Open House concluded successfully last weekend (23-24 Mar). I was helping on the game booth to let the visitors complete a puzzle and get a free PS2 Optical mouse. We gave out several dozens...

On the mean time, I managed to take some times to take some pictures with people around. For the opening, here is a picture between me and a pretty lady. Guess who is she? She is one of the models for NEC Computres!!
Nothing particular happens after that as day 1 was only a few hours and after that, we went to Penang for dinner. As a record, we ordered 10 dishes for 12 people!The people just could not wait for me to finish with the photo.


Day 2, and my colleagues insisted that I should meet an ex-colleague... as they say..
Do we look like brothers? They all say that, what do you think?

Mission Accomplished!!

Bravo!! as I managed to accomplish the project of automation downloads of reports from SSL web applications! Well, nothing new about the technology except I am the first one from the company that managed such project! Congratulations to myself! :D =)

Insufficient Energy...

Working overtime and playing in chess tournament the next day is always a bad choice and combination as I was almost energy-less by round 7 of the 8 rounds tournament. Luckily my round 8 opponent was kind enough to offer me a draw and thus we finished the tournament with 3rd for him and 9th for me...

The 1.5 days of NEC Computers Community Open House 2007 finishes successfully where I had worked overtime for 2 days... More pictures to come for this event...

My aim for for CLHS Open was quite low as I had exhausted myself with the works but the end result was fine except the terrible lost on round 6.
