First half of the event was concluded at Morelia, Mexico with Anand and Carlsen joint-lead.
Second half of the event starts today (2nd of March) at Linares, Spain.
Pairing of the first round at Linares (Round 8 of the event) as follow:
Peter Leko - Vassily Ivanchuk
Vishy Anand - Veselin Topalov
Levon Aronian - Peter Svidler
Alexander Morozevich - Magnus Carlsen
Peter Leko as leading at half time for last year's event but cracked at Linares scoring no wins at Linares and was finally overtook by Levon Aronian. Topalov made a successful come back from almost the bottom of the half time standing to almost catch the winner.
